The answer is simple – its unique natural setting. Bovec sits on the edge of the Bovška Kotlina, also known as Bovško Polje, at just 450 meters above sea level. This expansive plain, shaped by the Soča River, is surrounded by towering mountains that rise dramatically all around.
The highest peak is Visoki Kanin (2,587 m), followed by Prestreljenik (2,499 m) and Rombon (2,208 m). To the south, the basin is enclosed by the Polovnik (1,343 m) and Golobar mountains, while Svinjak (1,653 m) guards the eastern side.

Paragliding Flights in the Julian Alps
The launch site at Mangart saddle lies in the heart of the Triglav National Park. The panoramic view from take-off alone is extraordinary, followed by a flight above the Koritnica river Valley. Throughout the entire flight, we’re surrounded by the towering Julian Alps – including the highest peaks like Mangart (2,679 m), Jalovec (2,645 m), Loške stene, and Rombon (2,208 m).

How long will we stay in the air?
Flight duration depends on weather conditions – cloud cover, thermal activity, and wind. We can guarantee at least 10 minutes of flight time even without thermals or wind assistance, thanks to our high-altitude launch sites and deep valley landing zones. On average, our flights last 20-30 minutes, but in ideal conditions, we can stay airborne for up to an hour.
When is the best time for paragliding?
Paragliding is possible year-round, but optimal conditions include clear weather and moderate winds. The most reliable thermal activity occurs during summer months.

How to Prepare for Your Flight?
No prior experience is needed for tandem paragliding. We recommend wearing full-coverage clothing to protect against wind and cold, adjusted for the season. (Note: Temperatures at 1,000 meters altitude can be 10°C (18°F) colder than ground level!). Ideal gear includes comfortable hiking shoes and sunglasses.
